The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, recently announced that Kazakhstan and China have reached a mutual agreement to introduce a visa-free regime for their citizens. This draft resolution, which was proposed by the Prime Minister, outlines the details of this agreement, which will have a significant impact on the relationship between the two countries.
The visa exemption is provided for by an intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and China, which has been in the works for some time.
The agreement is set to be signed on May 18-19, 2023, during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to China.Once signed, it will allow Kazakhstani citizens to stay in China without a visa, while Chinese citizens will be able to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days without a visa, and up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
This visa-free regime is expected to facilitate easier movement of people, promote cultural exchange, boost tourism, and benefit the local economies in the border areas. This agreement marks a new chapter in the history of the relationship between Kazakhstan and China, and it is expected to have a positive impact on both countries for years to come.
